A very successful summer dance was held at Alexandra Hall on Thursday last which was well attended by members and friends. The general Chairman, Mr C.F.Tynor, acted as M.C. During the interval Mr Guidotti invited those present to a preliminary view of the previous weekend.
It was announced that in future the club meeting would be held at the Town Hall fortnightly commencing on Thursday, July 3rd, the intervening Thursday being set apart for the use of the Technical Committee.
The society are greatly indebted to Mr. F.Daldry, general secretary of the Y.M.C.A, who gave them permission to film the stone-laying ceremony performed by H.R.H. Princess Mary. Three club cameramen, Messrs. P.J.Chapman, Guidotti, and Mr R.Torrens, were in attendance and some excellent shots were obtained. These will be shown at the next meeting.
On Sunday last a comedy film was "shot" on Southbourne Cliffs under the direction of Mr. E.Guidotti, Mr R.Torrens being the cameraman. The principal parts were taken by the Misses White and Hoare, Messrs. A.Franklin, Scott-Simon and Waring. This film will be shown at the next meeting.
